The Green Bay Packers are looking ahead to a "Monday Night Football" showdown against the New York Giants. They are riding a wave of confidence following their Week 13 victory over the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. Now at 6-6, the Packers have a real shot at making the NFL playoffs. They hold the seventh and final seed in the NFC.
Their victory over the Chiefs, though, saw Green Bay lose one of their top playmakers. Christian Watson went down with a hamstring injury and did not return. He has not been a participant in practice this week, and his status for the Monday night showdown against the Giants is in doubt.
The injury could not have come at a worse time for Watson. In his previous two games (including the game against Kansas City), Watson recorded 16 receptions for 165 yards and three touchdowns. After a slow start to the season that saw him miss the Packers’ first three games due to a different hamstring injury, it appeared that he and quarterback Jordan Love had finally gotten on the same page.
Packers insider Ryan Wood posted the following quote from Watson regarding his injury:

Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, who made six Pro Bowls throughout his career, saw the post and asked social media to help him connect with Watson. He thinks he can help him avoid injuries:
Somebody PLEASE get me in touch with Christian Watson, this is my area of expertise, Jordan Love needs him healthy & i can assure you it doesn’t take these damn gurus or machines https://t.co/Vlb1a6sMUp

It seems that his post may have worked. Watson’s mother, who is very active on social media and interacts often with Packers fans, responded:
I’m his mom! Hit me up!

Over an 11-year career, Johnson missed only 10 games. Perhaps he does know a thing or two about staying healthy that would benefit Watson.
